This Sun Kachina was created by painting with ground glass in the same fashion as the Navajo sand painters. The Kachina is surrounded with a geometric design of cut glass. It has a solid wood frame of purpleheart and birdseye maple . Size is 20" X 25.5"
The ground glass retains it's granular texture after firing giving the look and feel of a sand painting, but being glass it changes color with changes in lighting.
